Background

About Mallison Mediation

At Mallison Mediation, we believe that effective dispute resolution can often be achieved to curtail lengthy, costly class action litigation. Led by founder Stan Mallison, an attorney with nearly three decades of experience in wage and hour class actions, our practice is uniquely positioned to guide parties toward fair and efficient resolutions.

Mr. Mallison’s background includes managing more than 500 wage and hour and PAGA actions and extensive quantitative training from his time as a Ph.D. student in Economics. This combination of legal expertise and analytical skill informs every step of our mediation process, helping parties identify and narrow factual issues—especially around damages—so they can focus on the legal questions that truly matter.

Our Approach

1. Free Pre-Mediation Evaluation

We provide a free evaluation before the formal mediation session to understand exposure issues, review potential defenses, and confirm that all key parties and claims are properly considered. This preparation helps ensure that mediation sessions have a genuine chance of success.

2. Mediation Fee Financing

If requested, we provide mediation fee financing until case resolution. This allows parties to focus on the mediation process without financial constraints, ensuring that all parties can participate fully.

3. No Surprise Mediation Sessions

By addressing financial constraints, settlement authority, and any “surprise” issues in advance of the mediation, we reduce the likelihood of stalled negotiations. If at any point we determine a case is not ready for mediation, we recommend postponement or cancellation of the mediation rather than wasting time and money.

4. Focused, Analytical Process

Our goal is to foster a setting in which parties can agree on the underlying facts, so as to properly evaluate the risks and rewards to each party.

5. Signature To Paper

Focus to ensure that parties in the mediation have a signed agreement upon conclusion of the session.
